From Mr. Jeremy Newman, Jr. High Girls Basketball Coach:
I am very proud to announce that our 7th Grade Girls Basketball team won the SOC/County Championship last night defeating West 33 - 22. The Lady Jeeps made it to the championship with impressive wins over Northwest and Wheelersburg in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. In the championship game, Bella Claxon led the Lady Jeeps with 16 points and several key rebounds and Skylar Zimmerman provided 12 points along with excellent defense on the West point guard. The Jeeps took the lead going into halftime on a huge 3 pointer by Alivia Hanes and took control in the second half with outstanding poise to claim the title. Bre Potters added a bucket to close out the team scoring. Team members include Claxon, Zimmerman, Hanes, Potters, Grace Baker, Ava Messer, Amanda Simpson, and Holly Horsley. Managers are Sidney Keslar and Addison Claxon. I am extremely impressed with the dedication and teamwork of this group. They improved every week throughout the season and ALWAYS trusted and believed in each other.
