Mr. Roberts at the high school sent home a letter on Monday outlining our new Drug Free Clubs of America. Here is just a snippet of the letter. Applications are available at the high school and the yearly cost is just $67 dollars. If you can’t afford that, there may be partial scholarships available in the office. Just inquire here at the high school.

“We are so excited this year to be able to offer students the chance to be part of our school’s chapter of Drug Free Clubs of America (DFCA)!  This is an uplifting program created by firefighters for schools to focus on rewarding students who are making drug-free choices, and ensuring that those teens have a solid plan to stand up to peer pressure when they may need it the most.  Take a moment to read the enclosed information, discuss it, and complete the application if your student would like to join.  From our perspective, this is a very important program because it rewards students for making positive choices.”

One of the best aspects about DFCA is that it allows us to tailor the program’s details to fit our unique school environment and community.  Local businesses participating in the rewards include:

                        Hanes Chevrolet                                 Tim Horton’s Portsmouth

McDonald’s - Jackson County           Larry Moore Trophies and Sports

                        Boneyfiddle Pie Factory                     Wheelersburg Cinema”

Mrs. Arnett at the elementary school has sent us some info to support the Box Tops for Education at the elementary school. If you have some of those lying around please send them in to the elementary or the high school. Every box top counts in helping us raise money for educational expenses like field trips, classroom needs and many other items. Picture is below.

That’s all we have for now. Tech Team is going out today to collect news and pictures for our use for tomorrow. We hope you have a great day and as always…GO JEEPS!
