In probably our best game of the year, we jumped all over a 15-5 Portsmouth team and led from start to finish. We were up 21 at the half, 25 at end of 3rd, and 30+ in the 4th before calling the dogs off.
The kids came out very motivated and attacked Portsmouth early. Matthew had his best game (maybe ever) and had 21 points at the half (score was 41-20 at the half). He ended with 23 points, several assists and did a great job of handling pressure.
Shane had 13 points and several assists as well. He got a little turnover happy in the 2nd quarter, but once he was able to calm down he put together a very solid game, especially defensively.
Alek had 12 points and constantly attacked the rim. Shiloah had 8 points and 10 rebounds, Jacob Ruth 5 points, Andrew Smith 2 points, and Devyn Coriell with 1 point. It was a well rounded effort from our kids, who now hold a 5 game win streak.Our record is now 13-8 with 1 game remaining at Oak Hill Friday.
Our JV's also won 49-42 over a very good and physical Portsmouth JV team. Devyn had 11 points, Andrew Smith 5 points, Dawson 7 points, Witter 10 points, Bockway 8 points, Levi Murphy 8 points. Great effort by our young kids to get this victory at home. They have now won 4 in a row and have a record of 10-11 heading into the last game of the season.
